Happy Tales: Waldo

Fostering is so gratifying, especially when there is positive feedback….

Dog foster Mary Freeman says, “I was privileged to foster this trio, the most beautiful litter I have ever seen.”  Waldo is far right, 7 weeks old.

Waldo

Two years later, Waldo’s owners say:

“In September of 2013, we were on a search for the perfect companion dog, knowing our apartment would be a temporary home for all three of us. We spent two months searching, until Michael stumbled upon thWaldoe Home Again website and we found a litter of puppies available. We drove two hours to find two of the CUTEST puppies we had ever seen, and there was Waldo.

We had a sleepless night the first night, because the little guy missed his sister, but from then on was smooth sailing.

We’ve had two amazing years with our little guy, and take him everywhere! He even has his own Instagram page! (@whereswaldothedog).

For being such a little dog, he has had quite the adventure of a life so far, from cottages to moving into his first home with a back yard!  Waldo is more than we could ever have aWaldosked for in a dog, and Home Again and their foster homes are wonderful. We have included some pictures of some of his adventures!

Thank you again for helping us give this little guy a home!” (signed, Melissa Champagne)

I also stumbled upon the Home Again website in September of 2013 and saw this trio. I traveled to Bancroft, to Mary’s home, and instantly fell in love with the pup on the left, Velvet (now Violet). It was a heartbreaking drive home (2 hours) as she cried for her brother and sister. However, once home, she was introduced to her beagle brothers Flash and Monty. She has been Flash’s shadow ever since.
When I got her she had long, silky black fur, with a cream face. As she grew her hair became curly and grey, and she very much resembles your pic of Waldo.
So nice to hear news of one of Violet’s siblings.

  • Melissa, Mike & Waldo:

It is so wonderful to hear that you both are doing well! We’re so excited to hear from another one of Waldo’s siblings! We spoke with another owner whose sibling actually looks nothing like Waldo, and stayed black and more shitzu looking. We were always curious as to what his other sister looked like, as he’s quite the (handsome) odd ball colour-wise. So interesting!
So great to hear from you!

I have been in touch with the owners of two of Violet & Waldo’s siblings. Mack, the only short-haired boy in the litter, and Dixon owned by Sheila Cross who is also on this site. Sheila and I have shared photos occasionally. I would attach a photo of Violet for you to see but I can’t figure out how to do it here.
      Lovely to hear from you,
      Judy & Ms. Violet

  • Stanley:

Stanley is the sweetest dog ever. He is so cuddly. We have let him run outside with our other dog and he has been doing well. I think he will keep the squirrels away though. He has made best friends with our other dog Dexter and our cat Whisky.

  • Steven Mills:

I recentely adopted Maki with the help of this site and with the help of Copper Creak Kennel’s. We are all getting along so very well after only three short weeks. My family is in LOVE with this furbaby beyond imagination!!! The folks who helped along the way Rose Mary & Christine Walker @ Copper Creak are wonderful to deal with !!! We would do it again in a heart beat.
