Sonny

Sonny, Male, Great Pyrenees, 4 years old, 105 lbs.

Our Silly Sonny is a big love with a big personality. He’s funny, very affectionate, and stubborn as only a Big White can be.

Sonny came to us with what was thought to be an injury to his back leg. After vet and specialist appointments it was determined that Sonny’s hitch in his step was not an injury but a neurological glitch that slightly delays his one back leg from responding in sync with his other legs. No treatment is needed and he is not in any pain. He just has a skip in his step.

Sonny is quick to accept strangers on his property if he’s told they are friends. Not only will he accept them, he will love them and take any amount of affection they are willing to give. He is also a friendly fella with people when he’s off property. Sonny travels well but does like to count cars with a bark for each one as they go by. Not to worry, if counting cars is not for you, he’s happy to stay home and wait for his people’s return.

There are a lot of dog buddies in Sonny’s life and he has been good with all of them. He is an attention hog, so being an only dog would be perfectly fine with him—either that or an easygoing companion who likes the occasional gentle play.

Sonny is great with cats. For a short while he lived at a cat rescue and fancied himself the guardian of his very own flock of cats. He also has cats in his foster home.

This low energy guy is quite content to lay around outside keeping an eye on the terrain or to lay at his people’s feet. Belly rubs are most excellent too! Sonny has spurts of joyous play with his foster brother and enjoys flinging around his toys. He also enjoys rolling in the grass and snow and going for strolls.

Please be sure to know or research the breed before requesting an application. While Sonny is an easy guy with breed experienced or dog-savvy people, he is unsuitable for first-time or obedience-oriented dog owners. He responds beautifully to consistent and calm leadership.

Sonny has been neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are up to date. The adoption fee for Sonny is $400.00.

We do not ship our dogs.
